Lots of people have been working very hard to get things ready for our new season. I have been gathering material for the Succession Committee, along with answering emails and phone calls from people looking for information.
The Reporter from the Miles City Star called and I did a phone interview concerning opening up the Museum for the season.
Bailey at the Chamber made us a nice, poster advertising our Cowboy Breakfast May, 17th-serving 6-9 am. I gave one to the Miles City Star to run May 10 &14th. Gary Taylor took about 20 to place around town. Taylor has been here 3 times with a camera man to film about the breakfast, one about history of the museum and the other about the history of the cattle and horse industry. Garys team will be filming and interviewing people during the breakfast. Jeff Williams also came and filmed an invite to the breakfast.
We have 2 entries in the parade. Jerry Stroble will be driving the Model T accompanied by his wife Joyce and Roger Sprage will have a horse drawn wagon. Rolly Ewalt will let us use his pasture for the teams used to pull said wagons,
Jeff Shaw helped me get a grocery order ready from Food Service, Boogs BBQ put it together with his and when he called, I went to the Fair Grounds to pick them up. When Vicky from Vintage and Rustics came to look at the old display cases, she said she orders every week and would be happy to place an order for us anytime.
I was told Sleep Inn puts an informational and goody bag in every room both nights. She told me they would put our pamphlet in each bag. There are 90 rooms so I took her 180 pamphlets on Monday.
Lynn Miller from Buffalo, Wyo. came to visit and she cleaned all the Cast Iron in the Museum, plus donated a Cast Iron child’s toy stove with all the pieces.
Alan Charles, Gary with the help of Kiwi Pet, managed to get the new rope and flags put up.
Sandy Jansen put a nice piece in the paper inviting friend, family, and anyone interested to the Dedication. Instructing them to RSVP by June 1.
Jeremy Fix came to check out the fire extinguishers. He finally found where water from the storm had blown up the conduits making the alarm go off. All is good now.
We had 5 schools with 153 students come as part of their field trips and there are more schools coming.
Our volunteers are: Dorthy Zablinski, Gary Clarke, Eileen Entzel, Ingrid Brown, Janet Kline, Donna Murphy and Gloria Archdale.
Katie Allison, Jessica Mills and I worked to place a gift shop order using Katies Graphic Design’s. Some are here and she has a display on the mantle. Hoping she can get the rest to us before the weekend.
Respectfully Submitted,
