Cleaning is going slow because it is too cold. However, Verna Viall, Leigh Rae Allison, Sandy Jensen, Duane Bundy and Ed Mayberry have been cleaning the museum. There is still a lot to do.
Aye Construction has finished all work inside the Fort Keogh Officers Quarters. They have finished tinning the false fronts, almost finished the screen doors, sealed leaks on the roof from the outside over the kitchen and repaired the roof over the stage in the memorial hall.
In the last week, I have written grants to Montana Community Foundation, Paddlefish Caviar Grant and the Nibs and Edna Allen Foundation for continued improvements on the buildings.
We would like to thank Jay Terrett for helping with the taxidermy collection. Some of it is up now. We want to thank Bill and Sandy Jensen for repairing and painting the benches that sit out front of the buildings. This was their winter project. We would like to thank Chris Cameron as well for mounting all the organizational ribbons on red felt and framing them.
The advertising committee has been working very hard to find new ways to get our name before the public. Luci Heller with Luci’s Office and Miles City Live, met with us once and gave us many good ideas. Then she came to the museum and filmed some video, so watch for us on Miles City Live!
We have 3 new members this month Allison Capps, Rhonda Shumway and Steve Moran. Virginia Carey came in as a lifetime member as well.
