Fostering Memories Since 1939

Annual Meeting

Curators Report June 7,2025—Annual Meeting

The big thing in May is the Bucking Horse Sale Breakfast. Since Reynolds Grocery closed getting supplies was a challenge. Jeff Shaw of the Red Neck Grill helped make an order through food service. Since he wasn’t ordering soon enough, Boog’s BBQ added our order to his. I had to go pick it up at the fair ground then get the rest of the food at Albertsons. Don and Dee Sams from Hysham donated 14 doz. Eggs. I used the blender to whip them, poured them into quart jars and they were similar to liquid eggs.
All went well at the breakfast, the crowed was about the same as last year. The price was raised from$10 to $12 and many said just keep the change which was $100.
Wally Badget visited with the people and was gathering new memberships He sold 14 and I sold1 which made a total of $1,150.

The Sleep Inn places goodie bags in the rooms for 2 nights during the Bucking Horse weekend and allowed us to put our pamphlet in them. They have 90 rooms, so I took them 180.
We had the model T driven by Jerry Stroble accompanied by his wife Joyce and a horse Drawn wagon (as part of the wagon train) driven by Roger Sprague in the parade. We got a check for $75. From the Jaycees as a thank you for having things in the parade.
Katie Allison had talked to the board about donating some graphic art as a way to bring in more revenue for the Museum. We met with Jessica Mills and when her new catalogue arrived, we placed an order for tee shirts, coffee mugs. Koozies, drink opener coaster and caps. We sold some of each but we sold 14 of the tee shirts in the 3 days of bucking horse.

The deal with me is to keep track of how we did money wise each year 2023 was the year to beat and for those 3 days we were $70.90 ahead and $1,000. for the week.
In the spring we always have school tours and this year they were : Broadus, 3 elementary in Miles City, Colstrip Home School students, Wolf Point and Circle with a total of 37 adults and 204 students.
I am still working on many divisions of the succession plan. It can sometimes be overwhelming yet I can see the benefits. It would have been helpful to have one when I was hired. My on the job training was side lined by my father getting cancer.

Respectfully Submitted
Bunny Miller, Curator
